Resident Orchestra at the Green Music Center

String Orchestra Workshop

COVID UPDATES (8/17/2021)

During the 2021-22 season, String Orchestra Workshop, the beginning level string program, will meet weekly, in-person at Sonoma Academy. Stringent health and safety protocols will be enforced to ensure everyone's safety. This includes requiring all eligible participants (including staff and faculty) to show proof of vaccination before the first rehearsal on September 18. Please see this page for more health and safety information.

The String Orchestra Workshop provides beginning musicians with an opportunity to learn to play with others in a small ensemble, preparing musicians for the full-orchestra experience. Musicians who are brand new to violin, viola, cello and bass, as well as those who have been playing any of these instruments for up to one year, are encouraged to enroll. Players work directly with string coaches, and the smaller group allows for greater personal attention, building strong foundational skills.

Session I: 12 meetings from September 18 through December
Session II: 16 meetings from January through April
