For students aged 7+ with 0-3 years experience

TUITION: $675.00

Classes July 12-30, Mon-Fri 9 AM- 3 PM
    

Beginning or Continuing Violin and Viola  Violin/Viola Workshop classes are now FULL. Sign up to be put on a waitlist. 

No prior music experience is necessary for beginning; 0-3 years' experience for continuing students. Classes introduce students to playing the violin or viola in a group setting. More experienced players develop new skills and hone the fundamentals. Ages 7 and up.

No prior music experience is necessary for beginning; 0-3 years' experience for continuing students. Classes teach students to play the cello or bass in a group setting. More experienced players develop new skills and hone the fundamentals. Curious to learn more about what you will be learning in the bass class? Check out this video. Ages 7 and up. 

 
Beginning or Continuing Guitar NOW FULL

No prior music experience is necessary for beginning; 0-3 years' experience for continuing. Classes teach guitar technique, standard music notation and music theory in a group setting. Includes both ensemble and solo playing. Ages 7 and up.

Performance Academy (MON-FRI, 9am - 3pm)

REGISTRATION April 1-June 9, 2021

For experienced instrumentalists aged 9+ 

TUITION: $750.00

Classes July 12-30, Mon-Fri 9 AM- 3 PM; final performance July 31.


Students focus on performance in an ensemble setting and deepen their musical understanding through composition, conducting and improvisation coursework, culminating in a Saturday, July 31 morning performance. Students are appropriately placed (based on audition video) in one of the following ensembles (Note, these ensembles will run based on appropriate enrollment numbers). Students also choose one specialty class to complement their ensemble learning.
 
Chamber Ensemble FULL
Audition required. For advanced string players with at least four years ensemble experience. (Experienced woodwind and brass players accepted on a very limited basis due to COVID restrictions.) Classes will focus on technique and ensemble playing as students practice standard repertoire for chamber ensembles.

Jazz Ensemble Spots still available. Sign up today!
Audition required. For intermediate to advanced students, this class is an exploration of different jazz styles, with a focus on improvisation technique and ensemble playing. There is a special need for musicians who play drum set, bass (electric or upright) and piano. Drum set and keyboard are provided by Santa Rosa Symphony.

  

Enrollment in Performance Academy includes one of the following additional classes:

Chamber Ensemble: Modern Composition Techniques and Conducting FULL
This course is an opportunity for musicians to experience a practical approach to fundamentals, orchestration, notation, and musical analysis with any level of composing or songwriting experience. In addition, students will develop conducting technique, their musicianship skills and begin to learn score analysis. 

Jazz: Improvisation and Jazz Theory
For intermediate to advanced musicians with any level of blues and jazz improvisation experience. Students will learn the theory fundamentals of blues and jazz improvisation, how to read a chord chart/changes. Taught in conjunction withImprovisation.
