About the Concert

Beethoven’s Leonore Overture captures the courage, tenderness and resolve of the heroine of his only opera. Our award-winning Composer-in-Residence, Matt Browne, who has been praised for his “unbridled humor”, will premiere his first, large-scale symphonic work as part of our First Symphony Project. Pianist Natasha Paremski shines in Rachmaninoff’s volcanic Concerto No.3, a tour de force of exquisite longing, audacious struggle and ecstatic triumph.

“She roared through the thickets of notes in the outer movements as if their formidable technical difficulties didn’t exist…”
– Chicago Tribune
