About the Concert

Celebrate the 250th anniversary of Ludwig Van Beethoven and life, love and the unity of humanity! Francesco crowns the year with the unbridled joy of Beethoven's triumphant choral masterpiece Symphony No. 9 in D minor. Johannes Brahms' Academic Festival Overture opens this concert program with a rousing collage of ebullient, student drinking songs. Ralph Vaughan Williams' gorgeous Flos Campi (Flowers of the Field) evokes the lush sensuality and rapturous eroticism of the Song of Songs.
