Our 88th season is also Bruno’s 10th anniversary as Music Director, and what an exciting year it will be!

On October 10, 11 and 12 Twin Stars Christina and Michelle Naughton perform Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Mozart’s Concerto No. 10 for Two Pianos, a piece he wrote to play with his own sister, Nannerl. Also on the program is the Third Symphony of Camille Saint-Saëns, with guest organist Charles Ru.

This inaugural concert begins with a world premiere commissioned by the Santa Rosa Symphony—the tone-poem Pax Universalis, by acclaimed composer Mohammed Fairouz. Mr. Fairouz has dedicated his composition, underwritten by the Clarence E. Heller Charitable Foundation, to children everywhere who have become the victims of global conflict. Mohammed Fairouz will appear on The Charlie Rose Show on October 2.

Sonoma Paradiso
Family Concert Series

The fourth season of our popular Family Concert Series, sponsored by the Sonoma Paradiso Foundation, will begin with “Music from Out of This World” on Sunday, October 18 at 3 pm. Come early to visit the Instrument Petting Zoo starting at 2:00 pm.

Children are invited to come dressed as their favorite outer space characters—from Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker to Buzz Lightyear, or as space creatures they invent for themselves!

This lively program will be conducted by Richard Loheyde and narrated by Bruce Robinson of KRCB Radio. They are joined by members of Roustabout Theater Company, who incorporate dance and song in playful skits that accompany works from Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and E.T., along with selections from Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony and Holst’s The Planets.

The series continues on Sunday January 24 for a modern re-telling of “Peter and the Wolf” with Platypus Theater; on Sunday, March 13 we present “Gershwin’s Magic Key” with Classical Kids Live!

Subscriptions for all three performances are available at $45/adults, $30/child. (Discounted family packages are still available).  Tickets for individual concerts are $17 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under. Call Symphony Patron Services at (707) 546-8742 or purchase online.
