Tatiana Trono
Viola
Violist and native Vermonter, Tatiana Trono made her solo debut with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra in high school. In 2022, she joined both the Santa Rosa Symphony and the California Symphony as a new section member. Before that, Trono was appointed Assistant Principal Viola in the Oakland Symphony, and is currently Acting Principal.
In an orchestra and chamber music setting, Trono has had the privilege of working and performing with renowned musicians Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Leon Fleisher, Midori, Gil Shaham, Trey Anastasio and Sigur Ros. During the summers, she has collaborated with other musicians at the Tanglewood Music Center, Heifetz Institute, Aspen Music Festival, Britten-Pears Orchestra, and the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival.
Trono received her bachelor’s degree with Victoria Chiang at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and her Master of Music Degree with Ivo-Jan van der Werff at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston.
