Kody Thiessen is early in his career as a musician but is starting off strong. He has earned his bachelor’s (2021) and master’s (2023) degrees in Music Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and studied with Scott Pingel. Thiessen has performed with groups such as the San Francisco Ballet, the San Francisco Symphony, was a substitute bassist with the Les Miserables Broadway North American Tour, was on the Grammy nominated recording of “Goodbye, Mr. Chips” by composer Gordon Getty, was a fellow with the National Orchestral Institute, and has performed with many Bay Area orchestras, including Symphony San Jose, the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, Modesto Symphony, California Symphony, Reno Philharmonic, Marin Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony, and the Oakland Symphony. Kody currently enjoys the privilege of being a section member with the Santa Rosa Symphony.

When Thiessen isn’t working as a performer, Kody enjoys cooking, fishing, reading, collecting records, and practicing for his next orchestral sets and solo repertoire he enjoys.
