Barbara Schaefer
First Violin
Barbara began Suzuki violin lessons at her local elementary school in Houston, Texas and decided soon after that music would be her life’s passion. She performs actively with many Bay Area ensembles and is a member of the Fresno Philharmonic and the Santa Rosa Symphony, which she joined in 2007. Schaefer holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She spends her summers performing opera in Austria with the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival Orchestra (AIMS in Graz), a vocal training program.
An avid baker, Schaefer enjoys sharing her scones, cakes, and other creations with friends and family. She currently lives in San Francisco where she teaches Suzuki violin privately.
