Jay Zhong

First Violin

Jay Zhong joined the Santa Rosa Symphony in 2011 as Associate Concertmaster. He is an alumnus of New York’s Manhattan School of Music (BM), and later, State University of New York at Purchase (MFA), where he was a student of Russian pedagogue Raphael Bronstein and American violinist Elmar Oliveira respectively. By recommendation from violin legend Nathan Milstein, Zhong began his professional career with a debut recital on Carnegie Hall’s main stage at age 16. Aside from performing, Zhong has given masterclasses and held faculty positions in a number of universities in the States.
