Summer Music Academy

Summer Music Academy offers an exciting three weeks of music immersion. Students can learn to play an instrument for the first time or enrich their music studies, all while making new friends with musicians from throughout Sonoma County. They develop musicianship in fundamentals and rhythm classes and enjoy workshops and ensembles led by professional musicians, including members of the Santa Rose Symphony.

Sonoma Country Day School (4400 Day School Pl, Santa Rosa) offers spacious rooms, a beautiful accessible campus, great recreation spaces, and a shaded lunch area. This school has offered in-person classes throughout the 2020-21 school year and has adapted campus spaces to accommodate COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

The health and safety of all campers, faculty and staff is our top priority. We have made adjustments to our pre-COVID camp structure to accomodate safety protocols known to help mitigate the spread of the virus. We used many of these same protocols during our in-person camp last summer, where there were no known campus transmissions. Here are some of the safety protocols we use to help keep everyone safe while at camp:

  • create exclusive class pods of 14 or fewer students
  • require everyone on campus to wear a mask
  • health screen all staff, teaching artists and students before entering campus
  • encourage students to remain at least 6 ft apart in class and when on break
  • make available hand sanitizing stations throughout campus
  • encourage faculty and staff to be vaccinated
