Kindra Scharich

Guest Artist

Kindra Scharich is an active performer whose work encompasses a broad range of
styles. Current season operatic engagements include Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Medoro in Orlando and Eduige in Rodelinda. Additionally, Scharich will sing several lieder recitals in San Francisco and San Diego, including Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder with Lieder Alive, as well as a number of performances with the Vinaccesi Ensemble, a group devoted to music for voice and continuo, of which she is a founding member.

Enthusiastic about working with living composers, Scharich premiered new works by composer Kurt Erickson in the spring of 2014 and is currently collaborating with California-based composer Janis Mattox on her Spanish chamber opera Sueños de Medianoche (Midnight Dreams), a work based on Bolivian legend.

Scharich studied voice and piano at Eastman School of Music and earned bachelor's and master's degrees in vocal performance from the University of Michigan. She also received her post-graduate degree at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her longtime voice teacher is Jane Randolph, and she regularly coaches and collaborates with pianist John Parr of the Deotsche Oper Berlin, Germany. More info:
