Reinhard Kammler

Reinhard Kammler studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Munich. He founded the Augsburger Domsingknaben during his studies and received a scholarship from the Deutscher Musikrat. After many years as cathedral organist, he was appointed Domkapellmeister of Augsburg. In addition to his duties connected with sacred music at the Augsburg cathedral, Kammler performs with his Augsburger Domsingknaben inside and outside of Germany and works with the Bayerische Rundfunk, numerous opera houses, orchestras and first-rate conductors.
He has been awarded several honours for founding the Choir and for his service to the cultivation of the musica sacra, e.g. the Päpstlicher Silvesterorden and the Bundesverdienstkreuz. He is a member of the Ritterorden vom Heiligen Grab zu Jerusalem. Together with the Augsburger Domsingknaben, Kammler was awarded the Bayerischer Poetentaler and the Kulturpreis der Bayerischen Volksstiftung. He is also continually being invited as a jury member for various competitions.
Kammler has had successful artistic cooperations with record labels Harmonia Mundi and Ars Musici for decades. The renowned Deutsche Grammophon made a first CD production with him in 2012.
