About SMA Jazz Intensive
Minimum age 14 (exceptions by approval of instructor)
Improve performance skills through the study of advanced jazz literature culminating in a performance featuring the ensemble with a special Guest Artist (TBA). The Guest Artist will coach and perform with the ensemble on the final day of the intensive. Participants will explore improvisation techniques and coaching from master teachers. This intensive is for advanced secondary, college and beyond players!

Financial Assistance
Need-based financial aid is available for Summer Music Academy. The deadline to apply for financial aid is June 1, 2026. Applications received after this will be reviewed based on the availability of financial aid funds. Only one financial aid application is required per student for all programs they participate in that season. Families that complete financial aid applications for Summer Music Academy do not need to apply again in the fall. Families who receive 100% Financial Aid are still required to pay a $50 administrative fee.
